Travel Vaccinations
At the surgery, we offer travel immunisations for people travelling abroad. Some of these are chargeable.
Please note these are normal charges and are non-profit making.
It is important to make your travel appointment as soon as possible - at least 8 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive your vaccinations.
These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.
Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
What you need to do
- First of all, please book a 20 minute appointment with the practice nurse. You MUST fill out a risk assessment form prior to this appointment which you can either print from the link below or collect from reception.
- Please bring along the risk assessment to your appointment where the nurse will tick & calculate the total cost for the vaccinations. You will then be asked to pay this amount at reception and given a receipt.
- The vaccines that you need will be ordered and once they are in stock, the nurse will contact you to book the appointment for you vaccinations.
As stated, there are charges for some travel vaccinations (these are standard charges). Please see the price list attached to the Risk Assessment. On your initial visit to our Practice Nurse, she will help you by giving you a cost of your vaccinations.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
Payment for Vaccinations MUST be made prior to vaccines being ordered.
For vaccines that need to be specially ordered, these will need to be paid for even if you cancel your appointment.
Please ensure you obtain a receipt on payment.
